Man, don’t ya just hate those boring promotional travel videos geared towards independently wealthy yuppie families? That tacky stock footage, narration, editing, and music only serve to make you sigh and daydream that someone would someday make travel videos for fun lovin’ greasy perverts.
Well, get ready for Rio Nudo (aka Rio Uncensored), the swingingest, sleaziest travel video that could only be made in South America -- where life is cheap! Don’t worry, that tacky stock footage, narration, editing, and music are all still on display, but now the subject matter is 100% Oooh-La-La! Rio Nudo is a lo-fi look at the wild sights and sounds of Rio De Janeiro’s red-light district, filled with sex clubs, prostitutes, orgies, and barrels of garish exotic dancers with fruit ’n’ shit in their hair.
Yup, it’s off to paradise and the sandy beaches of Copacabana where the bikini-clad goils gots legs up ta here. “Beauty may only be skin deep,” says the narrator, “but how deep does it have to go?” This is the kind of exotic flesh show that’s packed to the brim with seemingly endless frantic Brazilian drumming -- the kind that fuels erotic nightmares.
Quick! Go get the kids! It’s the amazing “Gorilla Woman” -- a chained and shackled naked blonde coated in axle grease -- who we are to believe is being paraded for the prying eyes of street traffic by a dark-skinned freak-show carnival barker. Your suspension of disbelief will again be challenged when the narrator introduces some obviously staged “hidden camera” footage of two Brazilian street hookers getting lesbo-fied. Even harder to swallow is the whore taking care of the sexual needs of a “notorious gangster” who “would kill her” if he ever found out about the filmmakers secretly filming them. Yeah right. I guess he never noticed when the director constantly told them to pause so the crew could change camera angles.
Thrill to some of South America’s most exclusive and titillating hot spots. I’m talkin’ clubs where girls unzip the pants of the their fellers and cram their dainty paws into trousers while brass bands trumpet an incessant bossanova beat! Or how about the spine-tingling voodoo dance of death? Or the five-day street party known as Carnival? “It’s like the entire city took a large dose of LSD,” says the looming voice of our guide.
Rio Nudo is tailor-made for anyone who ever wished they could have traveled to Rio in the Sixties and sinfully rolled around in all the various forms of adult entertainment the city had to offer. Some sources claim the director is actually SAM S. CATHAH, the editor of the movie, and a New York filmmaker who also made cheap late-Sixties black & white sexploitation films like I Want You, Once Upon a Body, and Gigi Goes to Pot.
