Reasons: Luftwaffe failures, particularly during the Battle of Britain, Hitler's loss of trust, morphine addiction, and deteriorating managerial skills. At the end of the war, he attempted to seize power, citing his formal right as successor, but Hitler perceived this as a betrayal. After the war, Göring became one of the main defendants at the Nuremberg Trials. There, he acted confidently, attempted to justify the regime, and even argued with the prosecution, demonstrating a high level of rhetoric. Ultimately, he was sentenced to death, but committed suicide by taking cyanide the day before the execution. |
